Remove the background on your iPhone

Choose a product photo and separate the subject from its original surroundings. Use the result as the starting point for a new composition.

Studio offers Standard mode and Pro High Quality. Processing stays on your device. After the automatic result, choose a background, inspect the edges and refine them manually if needed. Glass, fine hairs and similar colors can need extra attention.

Studio: create your product photo

Use Studio to change the look of a photo: isolate the product, choose a background, arrange elements and add text.

White, color, gradient or your own photo

The same item can look precise on white or expressive in its own scene. Choose the setting that suits the product.

Start with transparency and basic colors. Pro unlocks a custom color, a two-color gradient with direction, and photo backgrounds. Move, scale and rotate a photo background independently while the product stays where you placed it.

Control the product, background and text separately

Choose a layer through Elements, or select the product or text on the canvas. The outline shows what you are editing.

What you can adjust

  • Move on the canvas
  • Scale
  • Rotate each element

Move the selected element directly on the image. Scale and rotate with gestures, or use the rotation handle. Product, photo background and text keep independent positions. Choose the background explicitly through Elements when needed. A misplaced transformation can be undone.

Several captions in one composition

Add a name, a short feature, a price or an explanation. A project supports up to 24 separate text layers.

The Text tab lists your captions. Select one to edit, duplicate, bring forward or delete it. Each caption moves and rotates independently, so a headline and a smaller note do not need to share one text box.

Three shadow styles, with controls

Pro

A shadow connects a cutout to its new background. Pro includes Soft, Directional and Under product shadows.

What you can adjust

Adjust intensity, softness and distance. Directional shadows also have an angle control. Under product creates a diffuse base; the other styles give a different sense of lighting. Match the strength to the object and background.

Refine the edges yourself

Pro

If automatic selection misses a detail or leaves some background, use Pro’s Edges controls to correct the result.

Erase unwanted areas or restore parts of the product. Smoothing, feathering and edge expansion offer further control. Zoom in and work on the particular area: a soft edge and a precise outline suit different subjects.

Studio includes combinations of dimensions, background and spacing, giving you a predictable starting point for an image.

Use Tools when the composition is right but you need specific dimensions, a file format, a smaller file or a copy without personal metadata.

Remove unwanted edges, change orientation or correct a tilted photo without starting another project.

Resize in pixels, by longest side or by percentage

Keep the original size, enter width and height, limit the longest side or scale the image by a percentage.

A project saves a photo. A setting saves a way of working.

Projects, folders and returning to a photo

Keep finished and unfinished work in one library. A label on each card shows whether it belongs to Studio or Tools.

Create folders, organize work and reopen it with its settings. A saved project belongs to a specific photo. In Tools, ordinary project saving and repeat export are free; they are different from Pro settings reusable on new photos.

A Studio style keeps background, placement, crop, format and shadow; text layers are not included. Tools settings keep size, format, compression, padding and an optional aspect rule. An exact hand-drawn crop rectangle is not transferred to another photo; the aspect rule creates a centered crop. Find Tools saved settings inside the editor and the batch parameters.

Your photos stay your business.

Background removal, composition and every Tools transformation run on your iPhone. Photos are not sent to ItemShot servers.

What is ItemShot?

ItemShot is an iPhone app for product photos. Studio removes backgrounds and helps build compositions with text. Tools crops, resizes, converts, compresses and manages metadata in exported copies.

Which parts are free?

Studio includes 10 Standard exports per calendar month at up to 2048 pixels. Single-photo Tools editing, saving and export have no monthly quota. Pro adds full-resolution Studio output, advanced editing, batches and saved settings.

Which formats can I export?

Studio exports JPEG and PNG, including transparent PNG. Tools converts between JPEG, PNG, HEIC and WebP. Outputs are re-encoded in SDR.

Will my photos be uploaded?

Photos are processed on device and are not uploaded to ItemShot servers. When you export or share, the destination you choose may receive the file.
